A 3d printed fix for bent laundry racks
No more bending to the drying rack lobbies
Earlier this year I've had some problems with my drying rack, too much weight from dripping clothes, perhaps...

After delicately amputating the bent metal joint from it, I designed a quick plastic joint to print with PLA, so that it was symmetric and could be mounted with a strong steel 55mm m6 bolt.

The first design lasted as a replacement for not even a couple of washings, it had to be stiffer! The current version, that uses just a little more material, has been serving for more than 5 months instead. Next image shows the laundry rack and the printer that saved it.

As always the downloadable attachment is a FreeCAD parametric file, that you can tweak for strength and for dimension of your own rack. Also Consider reinforcing the plastic tube with a zip tie, to prevent it from collapsing.
